Most Expensive New Home in Britain

10th March 2008

Israeli billionaire Lev Leviev, ranked as the world's 278th richest person in 2006, is moving to London with his wife Olga and two of their children.

His new London house is Britain’s most expensive new home at £35 million, designed by architect William Bertram, who came out of retirement for the job.

The Northwest London house is 17,000 square feet and includes an indoor swimming pool decorated in gold, a cinema, a hair salon, a gym and it even has its own nightclub.

Safe as houses

The house is protected by a £50,000 armor-plated door, 25 infra-red cameras and a 24-hour security barrier between the outside world and the road on which the house is located.
